The Kenora Opportunity:
Family Physicians work in one of our three clinics with the Sunset Country Family Health Team [Family Health Network (FHN) payment model]. The Sunset Country Family Health Team is comprised of nurse practitioners, nurses, dietitians, a pharmacist and chiropodist and other specialties. Your family practice will be fully supported by this inter-professional team.
Family Physicians may also work at Waasegiizhig Nanaandawe’iyewigamig (WNHAC). This Aboriginal Health Access Centre provides primary health care with an inter-professional, team-based model of care at a clinic in downtown Kenora, and on an outreach basis to First Nation communities throughout the Kenora area. WNHAC serves the Anishinaabeg of Kenora and area through traditional and contemporary health care encompassing mind, body and spirit. Physicians work closely with nurse practitioners and other members of the interprofessional team including cultural coordinators. AHACs are a salaried payment model.
All of our family clinics use the Telus PSS Electronic Medical Record. New physicians to the Kenora area find they are supported by our local physician group, specialists, and service organizations.
