The North Bay Regional Health Centre is seeking an Anaesthesiologist to join our Department of Surgery.
Job Description:
The successful applicant will work alongside our team of nine anaesthesiologists in providing general anaesthesia services to general surgery, orthopedic surgery, obstetrics & gynecology, otolaryngology, urology, ophthalmology, dental surgery, ECT, the preadmission clinic and the critical care unit. Candidates with an interest and training in chronic pain management or critical care medicine are especially encouraged to apply. Appropriate candidates may be able to explore opportunities to direct a hospital staffed chronic pain clinic.
Our Organization:
The North Bay Regional Health Centre, constructed in 2011, is a 433 bed health care organization with acute care services including a 24/7 emergency department, 8 theatre OR, 13 bed PACU, endoscopy suite, ophthalmology suite, labour & delivery suite and a 16 bed CCU. The NBRHC Pain Management Clinic attracts referrals from throughout the District of Nipissing resulting in 800-1000 annual patient visits. The clinic treats a variety of chronic pain conditions, with a focus on procedural and medical management of pain. Access to fluoroscopy and ultrasound guided procedures are available. The service also provides for complex acute-on-chronic pain problems for inpatient consultation.

Qualifications:
Qualified applicants will have licensure to practice independently in Ontario and a standing anaesthesiology fellowship from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. A fellowship in chronic pain management or critical care medicine would be an additional asset.
Remuneration:
This position will be remunerated with a combination of OHIP billings, Northern Specialist APP & Hospital On-Call stipends. Our organization has a competitive Incentive Package which includes a $25,000 recruitment stipend, $25,000 practice start-up grant, assistance with moving expenses and up to $83,000 through the Northern Rural Recruitment & Retention Initiative (NRRRI).
