North Bay Regional Health Centre is seeking Critical Care Locums interested in practicing medicine in beautiful Northern Ontario.

Description of Service: The Critical Care Unit (CCU) Locum is responsible for the primary intensive care and ventilatory management of patients admitted to the 16 bed CCU. This service is supported by physician assistants during daytime hours along with a multidisciplinary team including respiratory therapy and dedicated CCU pharmacist.

Locum CCU physicians provide consultation to the emergency department and Criticall Coverage for the Nipissing Region.

Current full-time active staff membership of the internal medicine service is comprised of 3 General Internists and 7 subspecialists (including Cardiology, Respirology, GI, Nephrology and Endocrinology).

Weekly Internal Locum Schedule:

Monday - 7 AM-5 PM

Tuesday - 7 AM-5 PM

Wednesday - 7 AM-5 PM

Thursday - 7 AM-5 PM

Friday - 7 AM-5 PM & 5 PM-7 AM home call

Saturday - 7 AM-3 PM

Sunday- 7 AM-5 PM & 5 PM-7 AM home call


Our Organization: The North Bay Regional Health Centre, constructed in 2011, is a 433 bed health care organization with acute care services including a 24/7 emergency department, 16 bed Critical Care Unit, inpatient adult and pediatric medicine, dialysis, endoscopy and bronchoscopy services, obstetrics, pathology and surgical subspecialties to the surrounding catchment areas of Mattawa, West Nipissing and Temiskaming. On-site diagnostic imaging services include x-ray, ultrasound, computed tomography, MRI, bone densometry and nuclear medicine.

The City of North Bay and Community: North Bay, Ontario combines the tranquility of cottage life with the amenities of a mid-sized city. Opportunely located an hour North of Muskoka, North Boy is home to the largest airport North of Toronto and is a 3.5 hour drive to the GTA, 4 hour drive to Ottawa and a 1.5 hour drive to Sudbury. Qualifications: Qualified applicants will have licensure to practice independently in Ontario and a standing Critical Care fellowship from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.

 
Remuneration: This position will be remunerated with a combination of OHIP fee for service billings and Hospital On-Call Compensation (HOCC).  Our locums are HealthForce Ontario NSLP funded (respite+ coverage) which includes daily honorarium, travel sessionals as well as travel and accommodation expenses.
