The North Bay Regional Health Centre (NBRHC) Department of Emergency Medicine is seeking physicians to join its high performance team!
About the Department
Our 24/7 department is staffed by CCFP(EM), FRCP(EM) and experienced CCFP physician from across Canada in a multidisciplinary team that includes a nurse practitioner, geriatric EM nurses, respiratory therapists, social services, pastoral care, crisis intervention, etc. On average, the department sees 160 patient visits per day.
About NBRHC
NBRHC opened the doors to its new 433 bed facility in 2011. Our facility:
- provides acute care services to North Bay and surrounding areas
- provides specialized mental health services for Northeastern Ontario
- includes diagnostic imaging services (x-ray, ultrasound, echo, TEE, CR & MRI)
- has outpatient facilities for pediatrics, mental health, geriatric programs & services
- is well supported by local specialist services including anaesthesia, cardiology, emergency medicine, ENT, GIM, general surgery, GI, OB/Gyn, nephrology, ophthalmology, orthopaedics, pediatrics, psychiatry, respirology & urology
- is affiliated with NOSM University, which provides opportunities for teaching and mentorship
- has intentional learning spaces including lounges, on-call facilities and partnerships with the North Bay Physicians LEG, NOSM University, PARO, Nipissing University and Canadore College

Remuneration
- NBRHC ED physicians are remunerated through an Alternative Funding Arrangement (AFA) with a rewarding financial structure
- NBRHC offers a competitive recruitment incentive package which includes a $25,000 recruitment incentive, $25, 000 practice start up grant, relocation funding and up to $83,000 through the Ontario Health Northern Rural Recruitment & Retention Initiative (NRRRI)
