Our Organization:North Bay Regional Health Centre, constructed in 2011, is a 433 bed health care organization with acute care services including a 24/7 emergency department, 16 bed Critical Care Unit, inpatient adult and pediatric medicine, internal medicine and IM subspecialties (GI, respirology, endocrinology, nephrology, non-invasive cardiology), obstetrics and gynecology, pathology, psychiatry and surgical subspecialties to North Bay and the surrounding catchment areas of Mattawa, West Nipissing and Temiskaming. Onsite radiology / diagnostic imaging services include x-ray, ultrasound, computed tomography, MRI, bone densometry, nuclear medicine and interventional procedures.

The NBRHC Department of General & Family Practice is a robust, collegial group of physicians that are actively engaged in community health and play an vital role with hospital inpatient care. Members operate community based family medicine practices, provide hospital inpatient care to their rostered patients, hospitalist care to unattached patients
and longitudinal geriatric care including care of the elderly.
The Department manages approximately 200 inpatient beds and averages 4900 admissions annually as MRP with specialist consultation support. Opportunities also exist to work in the hospital’s emergency department, to surgical assist, practice palliative care, and addiction medicine.

Remuneration:
Physicians are competitively remunerated through a combination of capitation payments, OHIP billings, Hospital
On-Call Compensation and stipends for hospital services provided.
NBRHC offers a Recruitment Incentive Package that includes a $25,000 recruitment stipend, a $25,000 practice start-up grant, assistance with relocation expenses and up to $83,000 through the Northern Rural Recruitment and Retention Initiative (NRRRI).
Qualifications:
Qualified applicants will have CPSO licensure to practice independently in Ontario and certification in Family Medicine from the College of Family Physicians of Canada.
Applicants who have successfully completed an approved training program from the UK, Ireland, US or Australia
and are board certified are also eligible to apply.
