The Sundridge and District Medical Centre is seeking a full-time family physician. The Sundridge and District Medical Centre is a friendly well-organized clinic with 2 physicians and 1 nurse practitioner. The clinic supports the Village of Sundridge and the Townships of Strong and Joly. We are 35 minutes north of Huntsville and 45 minutes south of North Bay.

Highlights:
• full time rural family practice
• 1 evening per week, but no weekends and no on-call requirements
• average total monthly payment is $24,000 - $26,000
• contract provides for most business overhead expenses
• 37 vacation days per year with locum coverage through HealthForceOntario
• eligible for the Northern Rural Recruitment & Retention bonus (N3R. $93,640)
• signing bonus of $25,000 paid upon formal acceptance, with a requirement to complete 2- years, and up to $5,000 to be covered for relocation costs
• Ministry of Health pays for community site visits

The Practice:
The practice covers a full range of office-based family medicine from shared antenatal and newborn care to geriatric and palliative care. The clinic is equipped with TELUS PSS EMR. Each physician has 2 exam rooms and an office. There are x-ray and lab services available 15 minutes away. In Sundridge, there are chiropractors, massage therapists, dentists, community mental health services and child, youth and family services.

The Contract:
The Rural and Northern Physician Group Agreement is an excellent contract for the community. Each physician provides 4.5 clinic days per week with 0.5 days of paperwork and office administration in addition to clinic time. Each physician provides 1 evening per week of clinic time as part of the 4.5 clinic days per week. There are no weekend requirements and no on-call requirements. There are no inpatient care requirements. Physicians are allotted 37 vacation days per year. The clinic is closed on statutory holidays. There is pregnancy leave of 17 weeks at 50% salary or 8 weeks of parental leave at 50% salary. The contract provides for most business overhead expenses. Physicians are also eligible for the Northern Rural Recruitment & Retention bonus (N3R. $93,640)

Physicians must have a license or be eligible for a license to practice with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario. Certification in Family Medicine (by either the College of Family Physicians of Canada or the American Board of Family Medicine) is also a requirement. The position requires communication in English.
