Rainy River Locums Needed ($16K per week)

 

The Rainy River Medical Clinic (RRMC) is looking for ongoing locums to support the rotating physician group in providing coverage to the RRMC and the Rainy River hospital. The weekly rotations start Wednesday 0000 and complete the following Wednesday at 0000. The practice is a nice mix of clinic and hospital care including a 3 bed inpatient unit and a low volume 3 bed ER. There is a 21 bed LTC ward in the hospital that scheduled time is provided weekly to meet the LTC residents' medical needs. The clinic staff is very supportive and includes nursing and a NP who manages prenatal, well baby and well women care. COVID-19 restrictions has resulted in virtual care being added as a care modality and it has been well received by patients and providers. Experience with the Accuro EMR is an asset but training will be provided if necessary.

Emergency medicine experience is essential as you will be the sole physician on-site. There is excellent general surgery and obstetrical support including C-section capability an hour away in Fort Frances. On-site diagnostic capability includes point of care testing for basic labs, x-ray and ultrasound services during week days and via call in after hours and on weekends. Regular courier service to Fort Frances provides timely access to other lab services. CT scans and echocardiography services are provided in Fort Frances.

Locum accommodations in Rainy River are exceptional. There is a beautiful new bungalow on the Rainy River that is a five-minute walk from the hospital. There is a well equipped gym in the hospital that can be accessed 24 hours a day by physicians. Locums are well compensated for their work in Rainy River because of the required ER coverage for the week. HFO funding is provided for clinic work, travel costs including a travel stipend and locum accommodations. Take a chance and come and give us a try.
