Hospital Facility:
The Dryden Regional Health Centre (DRHC) has two modern OR theatres with one fully integrated MIS suite, supported by a 24/7 Diagnostics Department featuring CT and digital X-ray, ultrasound (weekdays), on-site lab services, and a 24/7/365 ER Department. Regional pathology services are located nearby in Kenora. Two local GP/Anesthetists provide excellent support for the Surgical Services Programs at the DRHC. We are closely located to two tertiary referral centres (Thunder Bay and Winnipeg) via ORNG Air Ambulance service.
DRHC is a fully accredited facility, receiving Accreditation with Exemplary Standing in 2023. The facility is regularly expanding services and acquiring state-of-the-art equipment to offer quality healthcare close to home. DRHC is also an accredited teaching facility with the Northern Ontario School of Medicine (NOSM U).
Surgical Services:
Common procedures for our General Surgeons include GI, bowel re-section, hernias, skin, and soft tissue surgery. GI endoscopy is an essential service and advanced skills in minimal access surgery are welcome. One local Family Physician with Extended Class Certification provides C-Section coverage.
