Job Description
The NBRHC Service of Obstetrics & Gynecology is an innovative and collegial service that is looking for an Obstetrician/Gynecologist to join its team. As a designated Level II prenatal community based hospital, the service manages the obstetrical unit (average 930 deliveries/annually) and generalist obstetrical cases. Typical gynecological caseload includes laparoscopic hysterectomies, routine prolapse repairs, hysteroscopies, etc.
The successful candidate will have assigned resources available including Operating Room (1 Full OR day per week) and outpatient procedural clinic time (1 day per week). They will participate in the Ob/Gyn on-call roster equally with our team.
Applicants are required to be certified by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and must be licensed (or eligible for licensure) in the Province of Ontario. Proof of full vaccination against COVID-19 (2 doses) is also required.
The organization is an affiliated academic teaching centre with NOSM University. Our service is involved in teaching the NOSM undergraduate medical and postgraduate Family Medicine and Anesthesia residents, and welcomes Obstetrics residents on elective from across the province.
Remuneration
This position will be remunerated through a combination of fee-for-service billings, a lucrative Northern Specialist Alternative Payment Plan, & Hospital On-Call stipends. In addition, NBRHC has a competitive Incentive Package which includes a $25,000 recruitment stipend, $25,000 practice start up grant, assistance with relocation expenses, and $83,000 via the Northern Rural Recruitment & Retention Initiative.
