The Department of Pediatric and Neonatal Medicine is recruiting for Pediatric locums to cover occasional weekends/stat holidays/vacation time.
On-call coverage includes neonatal and pediatric inpatient care. The neonatal unit provides intensive care to newborns and has a 5-bed capacity. Timmins and District Hospital manages babies with a gestational age of 34 weeks and above and serves as a Level 2A. Deliveries average 750 per year. Children requiring inpatient pediatric care are served by a five bed inpatient unit.
Timmins and District Hospital is a 153 bed district hospital serving a local population of 41,000 and a catchment area of 110,000. Timmins is located in Northeastern Ontario and has easy airport access. Our fully accredited referral and teaching hospital offers a full range of Medical, Surgical, Critical Care, Maternal/Child, Long Term Care and Mental Health services.
Applicants must hold Canadian citizenship and must hold or be eligible for certification by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada as well as hold an independent practice license with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO).
As this is an AFA funded position, locums claim a daily stipend of $2000 per day, with reimbursement of flight, hotel and car rental expenses.
