The department of Mental Health and Addictions consists of an 18 bed inpatient psychiatry unit along with comprehensive outpatient mental health services. Multidisciplinary treatment approach with supports from allied health.

We are currently seeking full time permanent Associate Psychiatrists to join the growing department of Mental Health and Addictions. The successful candidates will be practicing as a part of a group of 8 psychiatrists providing both inpatient and outpatient care at the Brantford General Hospital. This position represents an opportunity to join a group of dedicated healthcare professionals in a progressive organization. Interested physicians must be certified in psychiatry by Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, or equivalent (e.g. American Board), and be licensed, or be eligible for licensure, to practice medicine independently in the province of Ontario by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO).

Psychiatry work is compensated by fee-for-service in addition to sessional payments. Additional payments available for teaching at the site.

BCHS has an affiliation with McMaster University Faculty of Health Sciences thus promotes continuing education, teaching and research opportunities for all of professional staff.
