Consider Dryden as the potential home for your future full-time medical practice!

Dryden Regional Health Centre (DRHC) and Dingwall Medical Clinic are seeking family (friendly!) physicians to join our diverse rural healthcare team. New grads are welcome!  Choose your adventure in Dryden - build an exciting mixed practice that includes family medicine (clinic), ED, hospitalist, obstetrics, anesthesia, surgical assist, and/or administrative roles. GP's with enhanced skills in Family Practice Anesthesia or Obstetrical Surgical Skills have the opportunity to mentor with experienced local physicians.

Compensation:
Dryden is an eligible community under the Northern Rural Recruitment and Retention Initiative - physicians that establish a full-time practice in Dryden are eligible for $122,821 over four years!  DRHC offers an additional return-of-service signing bonus and reimbursement for moving expenses.  Practicing in Dryden also makes you eligible for Canada Student Loan forgiveness - up to $60,000 over 5 years.

Dingwall Medical Clinic is a Family Health Organization (FHO) capitation model which provides a stable income on an established roster.  All local family physicians provide additional services with DRHC (+/- ED, 2nd on-call, hospitalist, anesthesia, OB), allowing for individualized revenue streams and workloads.  Average incomes (including clinic and hospital work) range from $450,000 - $800,000/year.  Competitive clinic overhead rates hover around 20%.  Enjoy an overhead-free grace period as you settle into your clinic practice, and ongoing mentorship from our welcoming mix of young and experienced doctors.  Physicians receive 6 weeks of vacation and 2 weeks for continuing medical education annually.

Teaching:
Affiliated with the Northern Ontario School of Medicine (NOSM), DRHC is a busy teaching facility for medical learners and residents from NOSM and beyond.  Starting in 2025, DRHC will also be a teaching facility for the Univerity of Toronto's Teaching Practice (TP) Rural Family Medicine program.

About DRHC:
DRHC is on beautiful Treaty #3 territory, providing local healthcare to the community of Dryden, several surrounding rural municipalities, and the First Nation communities of Migisi Sahgaigan (Eagle Lake), Wabigoon Lake Ojibway, and Wabauskang.

We are a 42-bed hospital, including a 3-bed CCU, 24/7 Emergency Department, and 2 modern OR theatres with 1 fully integrated MIS suite.  We have a regionally-integrated EMR (Meditech, current development towards adopting Meditech Expanse), on-site diagnostic imaging (CT, ultrasound, x-ray), labratory services, and nearby pathology (Kenora).

DRHC is conveniently located on the same grounds as the Dingwall Medical Clinic and Dryden Area Family Health Team, making collaborative care a breeze.  DRHC also hosts a Specialty Clinic that brings in visiting specialists year-round, supporting quality healthcare closer to home. This includes Orthopedic Surgery (knee, hip, spine), ENT, Plastics, Obstetrics, Gynecology, Rhematology, Urology, Pediatrics, and Psychiatry.

About Dryden:
Enjoy affordable, small town living where 'lake life' can be at your doorstep!  Surrounded by beautiful Canadian Shield forest and endless lake country, Dryden holds endless opportunity to explore and enjoy the outdoors: fishing, sailing, mountain biking, hiking, hunting, snow-machining, cross-country skiing, golfing, camping...  It's all possible here! Dryden is conveniently located on the TransCanada Highway, equal distance from Winnipeg, MB and Thunder Bay, ON, which makes exploring and travel in either direction accessible.
