The Little Current Medical Associates (LCMA)—an 11-physician group within the Northeastern Manitoulin Family Health Team—seeks a Rural Generalist Family Physician to join our collaborative, well-supported practice in beautiful Northern Ontario. Interested physicians are invited to take part in the Community Assessment Visit Program, where travel and accommodations are fully covered for both the physician and their spouse.
The Role
- Approx. 16 workdays/month: 6 clinic days, 2 ER day shifts, 4 ER night shifts, 2 ER weekend shifts, 2 CALRI days (admin/leadership/research). Can vary month to month.
- Nursing home work optional
- Flexible clinic-to-ER ratio.
- 500-patient roster minimum; 37 HFO locum days annually.
Compensation & Incentives
- RNPGA salary model with low overhead; several special premiums available.
- $25,000 signing bonus (5-year commitment) + $5,000 relocation + $5,000 from Town of NEMI.
- Up to $116,585 over 4 years through Northern & Rural Recruitment and Retention Initiative.
- Northern Physician Retention Initiative after 4 years.
- CPSO change-of-scope/ER recertification support if needed.
Practice Environment
- Full-scope family medicine with 24-hour ER coverage, inpatient care (16 beds), and obstetrics.
- Attached to Manitoulin Health Centre with visiting specialists (general surgery, nephrology, psychiatry, OB/GYN, pediatrics, cardiology, orthopedics).
- Multidisciplinary team: NPs, RNs, RPNs, midwife, pharmacist, physician assistants, social worker, admin team.
- EMR: Telus PS Suite (clinic), Meditech Expanse (hospital).
- NOSM teaching opportunities, research, leadership roles via Manitoulin Local Education Group.
