Calgary is the largest city in Alberta with an estimated population of ~1,600,000 people, the second largest in Western Canada, and the third largest municipality in Canada (and one of the fastest growing!). Also known by its nickname 'Cowtown', Calgary has a rich western heritage that it celebrates during their annual Stampede - "The Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth!" It is considered the hub of the Canadian oil industry. Calgary is also the home to the Flames (NHL).
